I have been lucky enough to connect with Neha through her @_endoaware_ account on Instagram. She's truly an inspiring lady and I'm so pleased that she was happy to share her story for our Members' Monday. Below is her story, go and check her out on Instagram and share the love!
Im Neha, I'm 22 from South London. I have endometriosis, anxiety, depression and PTSD.
From the age of 14 to 19 I suffered alone because no-one believed me and the severe pain that I was in. My doctor's classed it as bad period pains, by the age of 15 I was on the pill and codeine. This was bad enough!
I was born in the UK but ethnically Indian, within our culture it was necessarily accepted to discuss gynaecological issues. This negatively impacted my life as it led me to anxiety and depression, which I am still battling.
My family were unaware of such conditions so they didn't realise how serious my pain was, that’s why I have no negative feelings towards anyone that didn’t believe me as we did not know of such things. I made my endometriosis page to make sure no young girl or woman has to suffer alone due to no-one believing her.
I have no cure, I did not cause it, I cannot control it but I will keep fighting!
